We’re super excited to introduce our latest plugin ‘ab Phaser’.
‘ab Phaser’ is not just another ordinary phaser, but a three-dimensional one! Natively compatible with Mono and Stereo signals, ‘ab Phaser’ works in Higher Order Ambisonics under the hood, which makes it compatible with any speaker array imaginable, including Dolby Atmos.
What sets ‘ab Phaser’ apart? Well, ‘ab Phaser’ comes with several discrete phasers which allow phase sweeps over each of the dimensional planes of your signal, or even better, each of the dimensional poles! This means you can tweak and adjust independently the phase sweeps happening not only in the Width, Depth, and Height of your signal - but also in the Front, Back, Left, Right, Top, or Bottom separately - offering a new level of customization in your sound manipulation.
‘ab Phaser’ is perfect for musicians and sound designers who want to get in-depth with their audio productions, offering precise new ways of approaching sound for a tailored result. You can work in traditional ways or experiment, adjusting each aspect independently to get innovative results.
In essence, ‘ab Phaser’ is about giving you more control and flexibility. Do you have a Mono or Stereo source? well, ‘ab Phaser’ will automatically convert it to Ambisonics so that you can manipulate it three-dimensionally.
Do you work with Stereo mixes? ‘Phaser’ works natively in Ambisonics, meaning that regardless of your output being in Stereo, all the processing has been done three-dimensionally so you can rotate, reshape, and manipulate your signal before it’s converted to Stereo, for unique Binaural sensations.
Do you work in Surround, Dolby Atmos, or a custom multispeaker array? Because ‘ab Phaser’ works in up to 7th-Order Ambisonics*, you can literally transform the soundscape of ANY two or three-dimensional source with unprecedented definition!
‘ab Phaser’ is compatible with Mono, Stereo, and Ambisonics sources (1OA through 7OA*) and will output Stereo and Ambisonics signals that can later be decoded to ANY speaker array. From Binaural, to Surround and even to Dolby Atmos arrays.
This means that even if you have a Monophonic recording, you can create a fully three-dimensional space that can embrace you in your Dolby Atmos mix, everything in a matter of seconds! Pretty cool.
‘ab Phaser’ comes with a practical Preset system where you create your presets ONCE, and they are Cross-DAW and Cross-OS compatible! Meaning you can move your presets from Mac to Windows (or vice versa) and even share them with other users!
‘ab Phaser’ also comes with a ‘smart troubleshooting’ algorithm, which will check your signal chain and let you know if something is wrong with it.

With ‘ab Phaser’ you can:
Work completely in Stereo whilst taking advantage of the psycho-acoustic characteristics sound takes when it’s being manipulated three-dimensionally.
Blow-up a Mono/Stereo sound source to Ambisonics, and subsequently to any Surround, Atmos or Immersive format out there.
Work natively with any Ambisonics signal (1OA through 7OA*).

No matter if your input audio is in Mono, Stereo or Ambisonics, our algorithm will automatically try to detect it. Regardless, you can also select manually.
Our algorithm will adapat the output signal to the width of your track automatically. Regardless, you can also select manually.
If your output is set to Ambisonics, you’ll be able to decode the signal to any speaker array configuration, from Stereo to Binaural, Surround formats (such as 5.1) and even Atmos (such as 7.1.2, 7.1.4, etc.)
Control the Phase Sweeps per Dimensional Plane (Width, Depth, Height)…
Control the phase sweeps along each of the Dimensional Planes independently. Each Dimensional Plane contains its own Phaser with Rate (Synced to the DAW or Free from 0 to 10Hz), Amount of Stages (from 2 to 12), Depth, Frequency, Feedback, Gain and Mix
…or even per Dimensional Pole (Front, Back, Left, Right, Top, Bottom)
Additionally, you can even control each dimensional pole independently for more experimental approaches. Up to 6 independent Phasers running simultaneously, each in each Dimensional Pole!
Four Independent Modulators!
A set of four Modulators with rate, min and max values controls help you oscillate any of the core controls of the plugin.
Blend your final sound!
You can reset the phase sweeps at any time, control the Buoyancy of your signal to increase its multi-dimensional impact and finally, control the overall Wet/Dry mix.

ab Phaser X for iOS
ab Phaser X is a version of ab Phaser specifically designed for iOS devices (iPhone, iPad) and comes as a standalone application and AUv3 plugin for iOS DAWs.
ab Phaser X supports Stereo signals and contains the most critical controls of ab Phaser. All the processing happens in Ambisonics under the hood.
As an app, you can simply open ab Phaser X and use any Audio Device to route a Microphone or an Instrument through your iOS device.
As a Plugin, you can use ab Phaser X as an insert in any DAW that supports AUv3 plugins (e.g., Garageband).

Compatibility Notes
This plugin is compatible with any major DAW in mono/stereo mode, for Ambisonics signals, a compatible decoder and DAW should be used. We recommend you check our ‘ab Decoder Suite’!
For working in Stereo, this product is compatible with all major DAWs.

* AAX works in any Ambisonics Order up to 7OA in Pro Tools Ultimate 2023.6 and above. As of today, the other versions of Pro Tools are still limited to 3OA.
* VST3 is a tricky one! As the VST3.7.8 SDK slowly expands through all DAWs, some DAWs might still not be compatible with tracks above 16 channels, so while our plugins are ready, each developer might adapt their DAW at different timings.
For Reaper (latest version as of today), if you stick to either 16-channel tracks (3OA) or 64-channel tracks (7OA), everything should work perfectly fine!
For Max and Max For Live, up to 16-channel tracks (3OA) are currently supported.
For Resolve, up to 16-channel tracks (3OA) are currently supported.
For Nuendo/Cubase Pro, up to 3OA tracks are supported.
We’re in contact with the DAW developers to try and have them include the latest VST3 SDK so that you can enjoy full 1OA, 2OA, 3OA, 4OA, 5OA, 6OA, and 7OA support!
* AU is still limited to 1OA due to Logic’s own limitations, sadly.
