Equalise space.
ab EQ is not just another equaliser - it’s a three-dimensional one. Natively compatible with Mono, Stereo, and Ambisonics signals, ab EQ works internally in Ambisonics, making it compatible with any speaker array imaginable, including Dolby Atmos.
At its core, ab EQ is a fully featured equaliser with 10 bands per dimensional pole: every band exists in space. Each EQ band can be controlled independently across all dimensional poles - Front, Back, Left, Right, Top, and Bottom - allowing you to sculpt frequency content exactly where it lives in the soundfield.
You can link bands across dimensions for cohesive, traditional EQ moves, or completely decouple them to treat each spatial pole independently. This lets you, for example, attenuate low frequencies behind the listener, boost presence only on the sides, or soften high frequencies above without affecting the rest of the mix.
Each band is fully flexible and can be configured as a pass, notch, bell, or shelf filter, and placed freely anywhere across the frequency spectrum. Familiar EQ workflows are preserved, but expanded into three dimensions, where frequency balance becomes a spatial decision rather than a purely tonal one.
ab EQ is built for musicians, mixing engineers, and sound designers who want deeper control over immersive audio. You can use it transparently for corrective EQ, or push it into experimental territory where space and timbre merge into a single creative tool.
In essence, ab EQ is about control, clarity, and flexibility. It makes equalisation three-dimensionally intuitive, whether you’re working in Mono, Stereo, Surround, or fully immersive formats like Dolby Atmos.
Do you have a Mono or Stereo source? ab EQ automatically converts it to Ambisonics so you can manipulate it three-dimensionally without changing your workflow.
Do you work in Stereo? Even when your final output is Stereo, all processing in ab EQ happens in Ambisonics. This allows you to rotate, reshape, and rebalance your sound in space before it’s rendered back to Stereo, opening the door to unique binaural and spatial results.
Do you work in Surround, Dolby Atmos, or a custom multispeaker array? Because ab EQ operates internally in up to 7th-Order Ambisonics*, you can shape the frequency balance of any two- or three-dimensional source with exceptional spatial precision.
ab EQ is compatible with Mono, Stereo, and Ambisonics sources (1OA through 7OA*) and will output Stereo and Ambisonics signals that can later be decoded to ANY speaker array. From Binaural, to Surround and even to Dolby Atmos arrays.
ab EQ comes with a practical Preset system where you create your presets ONCE, and they are Cross-DAW and Cross-OS compatible! Meaning you can move your presets from Mac to Windows (or vice versa) and even share them with other users!
ab EQ also comes with a ‘smart troubleshooting’ algorithm, which will check your signal chain and let you know if something is wrong with it.
With ‘ab EQ’ you can:
Work completely in Stereo whilst taking advantage of the psycho-acoustic characteristics sound takes when it’s being manipulated three-dimensionally.
Blow-up a Mono/Stereo sound source to Ambisonics, and subsequently to any Surround, Atmos or Immersive format out there.
Work natively with any Ambisonics signal (1OA through 7OA*).
Automatic Input selection
Automatic Output Selection
No matter if your input audio is in Mono, Stereo or Ambisonics, our algorithm will automatically try to detect it. Regardless, you can also select manually.
Our algorithm will adapat the output signal to the width of your track automatically. Regardless, you can also select manually.
If your output is set to Ambisonics, you’ll be able to decode the signal to any speaker array configuration, from Stereo to Binaural, Surround formats (such as 5.1) and even Atmos (such as 7.1.2, 7.1.4, etc.)
Visualise Dry/Wet Frequency Responses, per Dimensional Pole (Front, Back, Left, Right, Top, Bottom).
Intuitively control each band by dragging it around the pad. The Pad itself also contains a Spectrum Visualiser that offers a visual representation of the Dry and Wet signals.
Ten flexible EQ bands, per Dimensional Pole (Front, Back, Left, Right, Top, Bottom).
Each Dimensional Pole contains 10 independent bands, each can be bypassed, set anywhere throughout the frequency range, with flexible Gain, Q, filter Type, slope (when in Pass mode), and can be linked to any or all other Dimensional Poles.
Control Gain, A/B, Solo, and Mute of each Dimensional Pole.
A/B, Solo, Mute, or control the Gain of each Dimensional Pole
Further control and Visualise your three-dimensional output.
Expand your signal throughout the Soundfield with the BUOY Control. Control the Dry/Wet level of your processed signal, and visualise your final three-dimensional output.

ab EQ X for iOS
ab EQ X is a version of ab EQ specifically designed for iOS devices (iPhone, iPad) and comes as a standalone application and AUv3 plugin for iOS DAWs.
In ab EQ X, each Dimensional Pole (Left, Right and Front) contains 5 bands, each with flexible and intuitive controls.
ab EQ X supports Stereo signals and contains the most critical controls of ab EQ. All the processing happens in Ambisonics under the hood.
As an app, you can simply open ab EQ X and use any Audio Device to route a Microphone or an Instrument through your iOS device.
As a Plugin, you can use ab EQ X as an insert in any DAW that supports AUv3 plugins (e.g., Garageband).
